Kasdi Merbah Ouargla University celebrates the 68th anniversary of National Student Day, May 19, 1956
Today, Sunday, May 19, 2024, the University of Kasdi-Merbah Ouargla celebrated Student’s Day on the 68th anniversary of the strike of May 19, 1956, in the university’s large conference hall, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the University, the Vice-Rectors of the University, the deans of colleges and institutes, along with the local, security and military authorities, and representatives of the revolutionary family. Student organizations, professors and students.
In his speech on the occasion, the Deputy Director for Foresight, Mr. Mustafa Ammar, on behalf of the University President, Professor Muhammad Al-Taher Hulailat, emphasized the importance of Student’s Day in reminding students of their historical role in the liberation revolution, and urging them to persevere and work hard in order to build the nation and achieve its bright future.
The student representative also gave a speech in which he stressed the students’ adherence to the values of the revolution and their aspiration for a better future, while the representative of the revolutionary family praised the students’ sacrifices for the sake of freedom and independence.
In the same context, prizes were presented to the winning students in national scientific, cultural and sports competitions, Palestinian students were also honored, and 13 revolutionary films were delivered by the Directorate of Culture in Ouargla to the university.
A visit was also organized to the exhibition, which included scientific experiments and some institutions emerging from the achievements of university students.
