Today, Wednesday, June 26, 2024, the Grand Conference Hall of the Directorate of Kasdi-Merbah University of Ouargla hosted a ceremony honoring outstanding students for the academic year 2023/2024.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of the University Director, Professor Muhammad Al-Tahir Hulailat, along with the local authorities represented by the state governor, Mr. Abdul-Ghani Filali, the security and military authorities, the executive directors, and representatives of institutions and bodies in various sectors, in addition to the Secretary-General of the university and the university family.
During the ceremony, 62 male and female students from various majors were honored in recognition of their academic excellence and diligence during the university year. The honored students were distributed among 32 male and female students at the bachelor’s level and 30 male and female students at the master’s level.
The ceremony also included honoring special categories of students, namely 08 students with disabilities, as well as 05 foreign students, some scientific clubs active in the field of geology and engineering methods, and students who obtained the “Lapal” mark.
University Rector, Professor Muhammad Al-Tahir Hulailat, gave a speech on the occasion in which he praised the efforts of the outstanding students, and stressed the importance of science and knowledge in building and advancing society. He also thanked all the university professors and its administration for their efforts to provide the best ways for students to acquire education and knowledge.
A representative of the honored students also gave a speech in which he expressed his happiness and pride in honoring his colleagues, and called on all students to exert more effort and perseverance to achieve success and excellence.
The state governor gave a speech in which he congratulated the outstanding students on their achievements, and urged them to continue their excellence and creativity. He also stressed the Algerian state's interest in higher education, and called for the need to develop and modernize it to keep pace with global developments.
The ceremony concluded with the state governor’s announcement of the conclusion of the 2023/2024 academic year.
